How to avoid leaking water heater, daily maintenance is the secret

In recent days, consumers have complained about water leaks in their homes and they are worried about handling problems. So why does the water heater leak? How do we perform routine maintenance and inspections of water heaters at home to better use water heaters and extend product life?

Here, we have carefully prepared a water heater maintenance guide, allowing you to extend the service life of the water heater while using it better.

Why does a water heater leak?

Leakage of water heaters is one of the most common failures of water heaters. Many water heaters are prone to leakage problems over time. So why does the water heater leak?

There are several main reasons:

1. Leakage at the outlet of the exhaust gas;

2. Water leaks at the excuses of the upper and lower water pipes and tanks;

3, mixed water valve damage;

4, the cause of the bladder;

5, leakage of safety valve;

6, electric water heater welding cracking and so on.

Among them, the leakage of the water heater caused by the internal bladder is the most common, and maintenance is troublesome and the cost is not low. As the core of the electric water heater, the inner liner directly affects the use effect, safety performance and product life of the water heater. At present, there are mainly oxygen-free copper liners, stainless steel liners, and enamel liners on the market. Each of the three liners has its own advantages and disadvantages: Stainless steel is not easy to corrode under pressure; enamel liner is not easy to rust, good insulation, long life; and oxygen-free copper liner is common in Europe and the United States, fast heat conduction, pressure resistance and corrosion.

At present, the domestic water heater liner material mainly stainless steel liner and enamel inner liner, in order to avoid corrosion problems in the liner, often with magnesium rod protection, instead of the liner is corroded.

In this regard, we recommend that consumers check magnesium rods every six months, because magnesium rods are the most important “good helpers” for the protection of electric water heater liners. Magnesium rods will also have different degrees of corrosion for a long time and should be replaced in time. In addition, we also need to timely discharge sewage in order to extend the service life of the water heater.

Extend water heater life and make daily maintenance more important

In order to better enjoy product services and extend the life of water heaters, we recommend that consumers do the following routine maintenance of the water heaters to ensure that the water heaters are kept clean and leak-proof.

Water heater maintenance tips:

1. For the first use or after the first use after maintenance and cleaning, pay attention to the water heater must be filled with water, and then turn on the power.

2. The power wire used by the water heater must meet the rated current value of the water heater.

3, power outlet must have a reliable grounding line.

4, no wet hands to pull the power plug, long-term use of water heaters should be unplugged when the power plug.

5, can not adjust the pressure relief valve safety valve.

6. The relief valve of the safety valve is connected to the drain pipe. The drain pipe must face down and keep open to the atmosphere.

7. In winter, if the water heater is not used for a long time, the water in the tank should be drained to prevent the ice from damaging the tank.

Note: Always switch off the power before emptying.

8, the maximum temperature of the water heater can reach 75 °C or more, the initial use of water, you should first test the water temperature, so as not to burn.

9, different areas of different water quality and hardness, the water heater should be regularly drained, cleaning, descaling.

10. At the same time when cleaning scale, an electric water heater with a magnesium stick should check the corrosion degree of the magnesium stick so that it can be replaced in time, usually once in 1-2 years.
